Autopista del Sisgal, Colombia

The National Infrastructure Agency, under the Ministry of Transport of Colombia, has awarded GRUPO ORTIZ, through its Colombian Branch, the Concession Contract for the "Transversal del Sisga" Motorway under the PPP scheme. 

The primary purpose of the project called "Transversal del Sisga" is the consolidation of the existing Transversal Corridor of the Sisga (Sisga - Macheta - Guateque - San Luis de Gaceno - Aguaclara) with works of Rehabilitation, Surface Reconstruction and maintenance of critical points to ensure the usability of the corridor.

This motorway will have a planned length of 137 km and a concession period of 25 years.

This is the second concession awarded in Colombia to GRUPO ORTIZ, which strengthens its position in the country as the first Spanish construction company in turnover and the ninth in the whole country.

La Transversal del Sisga is a project that will connect the Eastern Plains with the centre of the country, benefiting three municipalities in terms of access to points of tourist interest, road safety, agricultural products and livestock in these areas and in terms of reducing travel times to approximately 2.5 hours for the journey between Sisga (Cindimarca) and Aguaclara (Casanare).

  • Expected creation of 124 direct jobs and 3,000 indirect jobs.
  • Expected subcontracting of 800 local companies.
  • Savings of 2 hours in travel time for 100,000 inhabitants and improved connection between the centre of the country and the eastern plains.
  • Benefit for the agricultural and livestock sectors of the areas involved. Improved road safety. Creation of new areas of tourist interest.
